About the Artist
Tia Gregorak
An artist influenced and inspired by rare and delicate objects, Tia Gregorak examines the layers of objects to understand their design, investigating them from every angle; black and white, color, texture, smell, shape and form. Tia examines the layers not only of the objects she paints, but of the places she visits and the people she meets. By sifting though the layers of an object, person or place, by understanding its past and knowing its design, she continuously seeks to identify its visual strengths to understand why it captured her in the first place.
Flowers are unique: exotic, organic and sensuous, they have great meaning for Tia hence a body of work that is thematically based n orchids, a flower which encompasses all of those traits. From Matisse to O’Keefe, the flower has been studied and examined because its meanings are so varied and powerful; feminine, masculine, a representation of love, beauty and friendship.
Tia’s orchids can allow the viewer to find their own meaning; their own simple truth, their own concept of beauty.
Tia is an American born Artist who now resides in central Switzerland.
